BRC 160/8 was named the #1 sire of the 2024 Houston Livestock Show Gray Brahman Show, reported by The Brahman Journal in their May 2024 publication.
This marks the second year in a row that 160 has reigned supreme as the sire of the most show champions at this largest Brahman show in the United States. The Brahman Journal calculates this data based on individual progeny’s placings in the show. 160 was also the #1 sire of 2023, although he tied with Captain last year.
This year’s 160 wins included siring the Reserve Grand Champion Bull, BRC Amos Moses 257, and the Reserve Champion Get of Sire (Noble was 1st). In addition, 160 sired two division champions, 1 reserve division champion, and 3 class winners for a total of 28 points.
Noble also placed 3rd of the gray show, and interestingly 4th in the red show for the highest producing sire.
The overall rankings of the top sires of the gray Brahman show are:
- BRC Mr. V8 160/8 (Noble son) – 28 points
- Mr. V8 146/8 (also a Noble son) – 26 points
- Noble – 21 points
- (Tie) Captain and JDH Jacinto Manso 840/7
- (Tie) JDH Massai Manso 608/6, JDH Sir Corona Manso 369/7
- JDH Mr Music Man 911/1
- Mr. V8 520/7
- Mr. H Pride of Maddox 684/8
This award showcases the quality and depth of the BRC bull battery and how BRC bulls are changing the Brahman world in ways never seen before. BRC Ranch had three of the top ten producing bulls of the show, which is a huge honor for us. Semen is available on all of these BRC sires. Email office@brcutrer.com to inquire.
