B.R. Cutrer, Inc. Acquires Herd from Southern Cattle Company

B.R. Cutrer, Inc. is proud to announce the acquisition of 160 head of Registered Brahman females, herd bulls, semen and embryos from Southern Cattle Company of Marianna, Florida.

“We are so excited for the opportunity to purchase these outstanding cattle,” said Brandon Cutrer, who facilitated the deal with SCC’s owner, John Downs.

Brandon and Rachel began working on this project in February 2017, and finalized the deal in late March 2017.

Southern Cattle Company has been a longstanding customer of Brandon Cutrer’s for the past 5 years. Through the years, they have always selected the top animals from our herd, and also sought out the best genetics from several other breeders in the U.S.  When this opportunity arose, the Cuter family was honored, and immediately acted on the opportunity.

With this purchase, we have acquired several outstanding females and several outstanding herd bulls like Mr. V8 279/7 (P), Mr. V8 194/7, and Mr. V8 604/7, the 2017 Houston Grand Champion Bull.

Because of this purchase, semen will be available on a few of the recently acquired herd bulls, including Mr. V8 279/7 and others. We are very excited to be able to use 279, 604 and 194 as natural breeding herd bulls on the ranch. We wish to thank John Downs and the Southern Cattle Company team for this tremendous opportunity.
