We are seeking candidates for a marketing coordinator to handle marketing and retail activities of three of our family-owned businesses: Brahman Country Beef, BRC Ranch, and Brahman Country Genetics. The main focus of this position is promoting the overall ranch brand and farm-to-table beef brand.
Position to begin late December 2021 or January 2021. This is a full time position but for the first six months, the main focus will be the creation / launch of a brick and mortar beef retail store.
LOCATION: Wharton, Texas.
HOURS: This is a full time position.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education levels. Eligible for benefits / paid vacation after a probationary period. Profit-sharing bonuses part of compensation plan.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Retail / Sales Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary part of the “go to market” team for opening a brick and mortar beef store in summer 2022. This will include helping with store design, layout, selecting products to carry, promoting the grand opening, etc.
- Create and promote corporate gifting for farm-to-table beef brand
- Create new partnerships for beef sales to local restaurants and food service
- Help promote and prepare for Farmers Markets (spring and fall)
- Select, maintain and promote sales of the ranch’s swag / merch / promotional items
- Process Shopify Orders, enter sales receipts into Quickbooks Online
- Daily fulfillment of customer orders (done via email)
- Coordinate logistics of shipping items (email / spreadsheet skills)
- Customer service to existing and new customers
Event Planning Responsibilities:
- Coordinate two farm-to-table dinners at the ranch (spring and fall)
- Oversee the brand’s booth and public relations presence during the Houston Livestock Show (spring)
- Coordinate a fall ranch educational event
- Help with hosting special events and visitors at the ranch (usually 2-3 a week)
Social Media Responsibilities:
- Develop social media content for Facebook and Instagram for Brahman Country Beef, FitBeef, Brahman Country Genetics, and new retail store
- Grow brand awareness of FitBeef (our lean beef brand)
- Monitor and respond to social media messages
Job Requirements
- Drivers license
- Multi-tasker, fast paced, able to solve problems and think on your feet
- Good at texting and email
- Open to being versatile in your daily activities (One day may be at the ranch, another day at the office, another day at the store)
- Self starter who can execute responsibilities with little to no supervision
- Time management skills – able to prioritize tasks.
- Organized
- Writing skills, specifically skilled at writing customer service responses, and general letters.
- Creative and willing to help suggest new ideas for sales and marketing
REQUIRED SOFTWARE SKILLS:
- Google Docs / Sheets (similar to Word/Excel)
- Mac computer
- Competent in web browsers and Google
- Calendar (Apple Calendar / iPhone Calendar)
PREFERRED SOFTWARE SKILLS:
- Quickbooks Online
- Shopify
- Basecamp
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Preference given to applicants with B.S, or associate degree. High school diploma required.
- Familiarity with agriculture, cattle ranching, or farm to table business preferred
COMPANY CULTURE
