BRC Wins At “The Oldest County Fair” In Texas

September 24, 2021

Cattle and genetics from the BR Cutrer, Inc. program once again rose to the top at the 2021 Washington County Fair in Brenham, Texas. The ranch personally exhibited 4 championship titles, and ranchers utilizing BRC genetics also claimed 2 additional titles, including the grand champion female being sired by Noble.

We are especially excited about the young cattle that debuted and exhibited at this show. Our goal at BRC is that every generation is better than the last. Thus, we were really excited when our cattle in the first two divisions continued their winning streak from the Kickoff Classic. This makes the second show in a row this fall where BRC has won the Division Champion of the Calf and Intermediate divisions.

BRC Lady Glitter Sparkle 115 was selected as Calf Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Female. She was also the Calf Champion at the Kickoff Classic in August. She is straight-bred BRC, sired by Captain and out of Sweetie. We are tremendously excited about this female and she has captured the eyes and hearts of many breeders on the circuit as their “barn favorite.”

Her full sister, BRC Katie Bar the Door 143 made her showring debut at this show. As Harley reported, she had only been on the halter 4 times before this show. The Captain dispositions are truly amazing. Katie was a Class Winner in the calf division. She is also a Captain x Sweetie and Brandon thinks this heifer may have a better future than LGS. For those who visited the ranch in summer 2021, Katie was the super gentle heifer you could pet all over in the pasture.

BRC Lady Sugar 62 is another very consistent winner on the summer and fall show circuit. She is exhibited by Boling Jr. FFA member Kase Baca. She was Reserve Junior Champion Female. She is sired by Mr. V8 146/8 and out of Mollie’s Miss V8 392/8 cow. She was previously Grand Champion at the Kickoff Classic junior show and Reserve Grand Champion at the TJBA Summer Show.

BRC Come On Eileen 75 was once again selected as the Intermediate Champion Female. She was also Intermediate Champion Female at the Kickoff in August, and at the South Texas State Fair in Beaumont. She is sired by JDH Gibson Manso out of 341/7. She is our favorite in terms of cow potential, great breed character. We love this female.

BRC Jumanji 67 is a powerhouse on the open show circuit, exhibited by our partners Walters Livestock. Jumanji was also selected as Reserve Division Champion Bull.

In the calf division, BRC exhibited 3 class winners, which gets us really excited about the future! BRC Shaka Rita 138 was our 3rd class winner in that division. She is sired by Noble out of Boom Shaka Laka. Her stallmate BRC Big Delores 137 also showed and was 3rd in that class.
