BRC Lady Sugar 62 was named 2023 Grand Champion Gray Brahman Female at the 74th San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Open Beef Cattle Show.
Randal Tipp, a Brahman breeder and ranch owner from Sealy, Texas judged. He commented Lady Sugar for herdepth of body, great udder, and high quality calf at side. Lady Sugar was bred by BRC and is owned by Mollie Cutrer.
BRC had an outstanding showing in both the open and junior shows, with numerous class and division winners.
BRC Come On Eileen 75 was the Reserve Grand Champion Female. BRC Lady Glitter Sparkle 115 was also a class winner in the competitive senior division, getting beat in the champion drive by Lady Sugar 62 and Come On Eileen 75. Judge Tipp commented that all three of the BRC females in the senior champion division drive were simply outstanding, and he elected to keep the cow/calf pairs together for his championship.
BRC Me Again Margaret 254 took first in class and was named Reserve Calf Champion Gray Female. She is a Noble daughter out of BRC 103/8 and is owned by Mollie Cutrer. This female was also the 2022 National Calf Champion Female.
BRC Wynonna 238 was the Reserve Intermediate Champion Gray Female. She is a Captain daughter out of Miss V8 263/8 and is owned by Mollie Cutrer.
In the bull show, we only exhibited 3 bulls, opting to keep Hey Dude resting to prepare for Houston.
BRC Money Don’t Jiggle 240 was named Calf Champion Gray Bull. He is a Noble son out of Miss V8 103/8. This bull was featured as Lot 1 in our fall sale, and is owned by BRC and GB Ranch.
Following 240, BRC Hoot Owl 248 was Reserve Calf Champion Gray Bull. He is sired by BRC 160/8 and out of Female Miss V8 21/8 “Boom Shaka Laka,” and owned by Brandon Cutrer. This was Hoot Owl’s very first show and we are ecstatic about his future.
BRC El Cucuy 163 was also a class winner in the bull show.
BRC exhibited the Champion Embryo Produce-of-Dam with Money Don’t Jiggle and Me Again Margaret.
