In the first official ABBA approved show of the fall, BRC genetics had an outstanding showing at the 2020 Kickoff Classic in Bryan, Texas. Due to Covid-19, this was our first show competition since Houston 2020.

BRC was one of the most consistent ranches at the show, winning 5 classes with cattle from our own ranch showstring, and several clients succeeding as well.

BRC’s oldest bull in the show string, Dutton, was named Reserve Grand Champion. Judge Judd Cullers praised Dutton for his moderate frame size, clean sheath, outstanding Brahman breed character, and muscling. He was previously also named Reserve Senior Champion Bull. Dutton is a straight BRC bred bull, sired by Noble and out of Miss V8 21/8. He is owned by BRC and Garrett Harvey of Danbury, Texas. Australian rights are owned by Garglen Brahmans.

BRC BoomBox 38, the high selling bull of our spring sale, made his show ring debut with a smash hit. He was selected as Calf Champion Bull. He is owned by Seth and Renee Graham and their family of Louisiana.

BRC also exhibited two other class winners in the bull show, Mr. V8 641/8, and BRC Jumanji 67.

In the female show, we exhibited primarily younger females, as a way to get some of our new heifers out on the show road.

While showing only heifers in the calf and intermediate division, we exhibited 2 class winners, including BRC Lady Sugar 62 and Miss V8 117/9. Three females that sold in our May sale also competed in the show, standing at the tops of their class for owners Arms Cattle Company, Becki Rion, and Williams Ranch. Wichita Ranch also placed 1st and 2nd in a very competitive heifer class with their Noble x 694 females.

Miss V8 918/8, another daughter of Noble and 694, was selected as Reserve Grand Champion for Grace McCall. This female was bred by BRC and sold to the McCalls in fall 2018.

Miss V8 694/7 was a very consistent producer of champions at this show, including having 4 daughters competing at the show who all placed 1st or 2nd in her class: BRC Fiesta 34, Miss V8 918/8, and the two Wichita females.

Please visit our Winners page for other photos from the show.

The BRC show string is managed by Harley Wade, BRC herdsman with assistance from Marcus Faniel.
