BRC Attends Beef Cattle Short Course, Coordinates Farm to Table Session

August 14, 2021

August 2021 – College Station, Texas

The B.R. Cutrer team attended the 2021 Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course on August 2 – 4. Keaton Dodd, Brandon & Rachel Cutrer, and Mollie and Annie Cutrer represented the firm.

This year’s BCSC was held in person with over 1,700 participants and 150 agriculture related businesses and vendors attending. During the short course over 20 sessions were held with topics including animal health, research and marketing.

BRC not only had a booth at the trade show, but co-owner of BRC and Brahman Country Beef, Rachel Cutrer coordinated the Farm to Table session that took place on August 3rd. Typically, these workshops are coordinated by members of the AgriLife Extension service but Rachel was selected as the first-ever industry coordinator of a BCSC session.

The session was designed to educate participants on the different aspects that go into having your own farm to table beef brand. This session included several speakers that were processors, e-commerce specialists, and even entrepreneurs that have been successful in their own farm to table beef brand. Speakers were; Jordan Beeman from HeartBrand Beef, Dustin and Annie Dean from Dean & Peeler Meatworks, Carole Arriaga from Ranch House Designs, and Ty Lindsey from Texas Food Brands.

The panel consisted of entrepreneurs that had their own beef brands which included, Ryan Cade with R-C Ranch, Josh Eilers with Badass Beef, and Trey Quinn with Quinn Beef. Participants asked many questions and truly wanted to learn more about this new and evolving industry.

The feedback from this session was overwhelmingly positive.

BRC appreciates our longstanding relationship with the TAMU Beef Cattle Short Course and all of their efforts in promoting the Texas beef industry.
