617/2 Holds #1 Grey Female Spot in the ABBA Register of Renown for 2021

March 17, 2021

+Miss V8 617/2, bred by Sloan Williams and owned by Rachel Cutrer, holds the #1 spot in the ABBA Register of Renown for Top Producing Grey Dams on the Show Circuit for 2021, as announced by The Brahman Journal in March 2021.

617 has a total of 595 points, all from progeny primarily shown in the early 1990s. 617 has held this position for two decades – and earned this position primarily through points with very little embryo transfer or IVF since she was in production decades ago.

617 is famous for producing Miss V8 725/3 “Amber”, who was the 1990 National Champion Female, 1990 All American Grand Champion Female, and 1991 International Champion Female, a bred and owned for Rachel. Rachel exhibited this female personally to the International Championship as a 12-year-old young girl.

617 is also the dam of +Mr. V8 666/3, also the 1990 National Champion Bull, and +Miss V8 666/3, the 1989 National Champion Female. From this line of females emerged the popular Superstroke and Powerstroke bloodlines.

For Brahman historians who know this story, Rachel’s Dadaw (Sloan Williams) gave 617 to Rachel when she was just a baby. It was his gift to give Rachel the foundation of her herd. In his life, he continually shared his love, advice, and generosity to Rachel and her family. Today, 41 years later, we still have one remaining descendent of the 617 female line in our herd.

The current ranking of grey females is:

  1. +Miss V8 617/2 – Owned by Rachel Cutrer
  2. +LMT Miss Diamond T 206 – Owned by Gary Taylor
  3. +GCM Grand Court Marc 39 – owned by Clyde & Betty M. Goudeau
  4. +Miss V8 137/8 “Diva” – Owned by V8 Ranch and Adrian Land/L2 Ranch
  5. +Ms SS Liberty 144 – Owned by Paul Canik, Wesley Thibodeaux, Drake Conner, and Taylor Clement.
